Our Radio Experience

Last week we had a special Visit from the breakfast team from More fm. They came into our class and asked us questions about Christmas and TV shows. We had to think of some creative answers so we sounded funny on the radio. On Monday More fm played the interview on the radio and we got to listen to our voices. We had so much fun! We are also going to get some cool toys from toyworld for doing it. Thank you so much More fm and Ethan for organising it!!

Our Athletics Day

At our junior school athletics we had to do high jump, shot put, discus, long jump, javelin, hurdles and sprint races. We had a fantastic sunny day and everyone participated in every activity. It was great to see all the students having fun and enjoying every event. We had sun block and hats to protect us from the hot sun as well.

We ended the day with our relays and Room 14 won the Year 2 relay and then the teachers and parents even had a race. Mr Jay was so slow!

Art Suite

Last week, we had the chance to finish our masks. We learnt how to use hot and cold colours to
show the contrast between the background and the mask. We used paper mache to make a 3D mask, that look fantastic. If you are keen to look at our masks you can come into Room 15 to anytime.

Here are some of the students flying down the

hill as fast as they could go!

Wheels Day

Last Thursday the Year 1 and 2's brought in bikes, skateboards,
scooters, and roller blades for our wheels day. We rode around
all the cones and had loads of fun!! It was a great experience for
all of us. Some of the hightlights were going really fast down the big
hill. We learnt about being safe on all of our gear.

life Education

As part of our study on healthy eating we had the Life Education bus visit our school. We had two 45min sessions, that the Life Education teacher took. We learnt about what foods we need to eat and how we can classify these into groups. These were foods we eat most of, foods we eat sometimes, and foods we eat little of. We also talked about where our food goes once we finish chewing it. The whole class had lots of fun and we learnt a lot. Next week we will be doing an experiment with BAKED BEANS!!!

"OUR ALL BLACK DAY"

To help celebrate the start of the 2007 rugby world cup room 15 did some cool activities to show our support. We did Arcostic poems, made flags, painted masks, and cut out All Blacks in magazines. We hope you enjoy the pictures. GO THE ALL BLACKS!!!!

Over the past term we have been learning about PETS and how to care for a pet. Here are some photos of our cool trip to Marshalls Animal Farm. We also went to pet essentials to look at pet shelters.

Great use of tubes

Here are some of the finished products! Can you tell what sort of pet might live in these shelters. What modifications would you make to these ones?

Here are some pictures of our current pet shelter making. We used a range of differen materials, which included gule, paste, cardboard, and paint. This is part of the process we went through.
